First use:
– Place the tray in a preheated oven at 150°C (302°F) for about 30 minutes, without oiling the tray. Then allow it to cool to room temperature and clean it with a cloth or kitchen paper.
– Once cooled, fully grease the tray with a moderate amount of olive oil and proceed with the seasoning process by placing the tray upside down in the oven at maximum temperature. Keep it in the oven for 30 minutes. If the process is correct, smoke and an unpleasant odor will occur due to the oil being consumed and vitrified by the heat.
Remove the tray from the oven and let it cool for approximately 2 hours. Repeat the treatment once again.
At this point, if the tray is covered with an even patina, the seasoning process is complete.
Maintenance:
– Always clean with a cloth, store in dry places—especially if used occasionally—and avoid contact with acidic substances.
– Not recommended for use in proofing chambers or freezing environments.
– Do not wash with water or caustic solutions.
– If rust appears, remove it using fine-grit sandpaper or emery cloth until bare metal is reached, then repeat the seasoning process.
